About The Position

Tactica Solutions, LLC is seeking a Digital Solutions Architect to support a Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance (SETA) contract for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics & Engineering (G-4), at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. This temporary position is anticipated to last up to 12 months and may end earlier based on organizational needs; it is not expected to exceed 12 months and does not guarantee continued or permanent employment. Travel up to 30% may be required to support inspections, project planning, and stakeholder coordination. The salary range is $160,000–$183,000 per year. The role is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying an enterprise-grade, AI-enabled Integrated Readiness and Predictive Maintenance Platform for military weapon systems and equipment fleets. The platform will fuse maintenance, supply-chain, operational, and telemetry data into a unified Common Operational Picture (COP) for strategic commanders, sustainment logisticians, and field maintainers. It will support component-failure forecasting, supply-chain optimization, and operational readiness across distributed environments. Development may use Palantir Foundry, Army 365 (Power Platform/SharePoint), or custom stacks such as Python and SQL. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or related field and an active Secret or TS/SCI security clearance. Candidates must have proficiency in at least one of the listed platform areas and experience in data science, AI/ML, and relevant DoD logistics and maintenance domains. Work may involve extended periods of sitting or standing, computer use, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following: Palantir Foundry, Army 365/Microsoft Power Platform, or a custom Python and SQL stack.
  • For Palantir Foundry: experience with Data Connection, Contour, Pipeline Builder, Ontology configuration, Workshop application development, and PySpark.
  • For Army 365/Microsoft Power Platform: experience building production-grade workflows, applications, and dashboards with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint in DoD environments.
  • For a custom Python stack: advanced Python skills for data science and engineering, including tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, and SciPy for survival analysis, as well as SQL for relational database management.
  • Experience in survival analysis, reliability modeling, time-series forecasting, and optimization algorithms.
  • Experience developing or integrating Large Language Model (LLM) interfaces, agentic frameworks, and RAG systems with strict source-attribution mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with DoD logistics, military maintenance systems, Class IX supply chains, and Condition-Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+).
  • Understanding of military security protocols, including work in Impact Level 5 (IL5) and Impact Level 6 (IL6) environments, CAC/PKI authentication, and role-based access controls.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and use a computer; sufficient mobility for bending, reaching, and kneeling; ability to lift up to 30 pounds as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ingest, normalize, and reconcile data from military maintenance databases, supply-chain platforms, Built-In Test (BIT) telemetry, and operational records.
  • Build data pipelines that perform standardized entity resolution and temporal alignment across equipment component histories, fault events, and usage cycles.
  • Ensure data schemas are government-owned, compliant, and ready for publication to situational-awareness networks such as the Maven Smart System data fabric or other JADC2 architectures.
  • Develop and deploy predictive survival-analysis and temporal degradation models to forecast component failures based on operating hours, usage cycles, and environmental exposure.
  • Focus predictive analytics on High-Payoff Mission-Essential Components to generate early demand signals before operational capabilities degrade.
  • Build resource-constrained optimization routines that compare maintenance schedules against workforce availability, military occupational specialties (MOS), support equipment, and parts inventory.
  • Design automated decision-support workflows for lateral transfers and controlled exchanges of critical parts across units and locations.
  • Configure interfaces for strategic leaders, including map-based geographic dispersion, aggregate fleet-readiness metrics, and 30/60/180-day readiness-risk forecasts.
  • Configure logisticians’ interfaces for Class IX supply-chain trade spaces, lateral-transfer recommendations, and high-payoff parts tracking.
  • Configure maintainers’ interfaces for prioritized work queues, real-time status updates, and interactive reference tools.
  • Integrate conversational AI capabilities and develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks over technical publications and manuals, providing source-attributed answers with precise paragraph citations.
