About The Position

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is seeking a creative and detail-oriented digital marketing professional to serve as Digital Marketing Manager. This role is a critical member of the Marketing, Communications & Media and Guest Services team, reporting to the Director of Marketing & Audience Development (DMAD). The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for executing the DSO's email marketing and website presence to support ticket sales, subscriptions, and donations. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role that partners closely with Creative Services, Communications & Media, Guest Services & Ticketing, Development, and Education to bring campaigns to life across owned digital channels. The role also manages local digital advertising placements and reports on performance across all digital properties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Music Business, Communications or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of digital marketing experience, with experience in email marketing and website management.
  • Experience managing local digital advertising or paid media placements, including vendor and budget coordination.
  • Working knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and campaign reporting.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with copywriting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and creatively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategy and decisions.
  • Keen attention to brand consistency across marketing materials and platforms.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Passion for the arts and a commitment to audience engagement and community impact.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines across a variety of internal departments and external partners.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently, while initiating and driving programs as a results-oriented team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the arts, entertainment, or nonprofit sector.
  • Experience with email service providers, marketing automation platforms, and HTML.
  • Experience with website content management systems (CMS), including page building and basic web design.
  • Familiarity with Tessitura or a comparable CRM/ticketing platform.

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling email content to drive ticket sales and donations, working in collaboration with Creative Services, Communications & Media and Guest Services & Ticketing.
  • Build and manage targeted lists and automations including marketing messaging and pre/post-concert communications.
  • Support the Development and Education departments in the creation, approval process, and distribution of targeted email campaigns.
  • Create, revise, and update pages and forms within the DSO website on behalf of all DSO departments.
  • Optimize webpage layout and design to ensure alignment with DSO brand standards.
  • Build engaging and interactive major campaign landing pages that generate new concert subscribers, ticket buyers, email subscribers, and donors.
  • Collaborate with DMAD on optimizing website functionality and ongoing navigation and overall site updates.
  • Work with Guest Services to ensure Tessitura integrations are optimized, creating an easy and secure purchase path for our patrons.
  • Work with DMAD to set campaign timelines—ensuring campaigns are coordinated with other Marketing and Development efforts.
  • Manage digital ad buys with local media partners and in-house managed paid digital media.
  • Adhere to established concerts budgets, monitoring invoices and keeping up-to-date records.
  • Regularly track website and other owned web properties for key metrics such as traffic, engagement, conversions and reviews.
  • Prepare monthly and campaign-specific post-concert reports.
  • Evaluate tactics, assess impact, and adjust strategies to improve the effectiveness of our email marketing and website.
