About The Position

Qualcomm Technologies’ Wireless R&D group is developing a Test Base Station (TBS) to verify QCT mobile chipset functionality. The Senior Digital Hardware Engineer will help implement and verify complex wireless systems, with current development focused on the 6GR physical layer and FPGA SoCs. This role is part of an experienced team working with wireless standards and digital design, and requires effective communication with Systems, RF, Software, and Test engineers. The engineer will contribute to product development milestones and deliverables, interpret 3GPP and other specifications, translate system requirements into efficient digital implementations that meet performance requirements, and architect, implement, and verify FPGA/SoC designs. The role also includes presenting design reviews and supporting commercialization of new hardware and features.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in FPGA or ASIC design from RTL/HDL through simulation, synthesis, and on-target verification.
  • At least 2 years of experience with VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog and related simulator and synthesis CAD tools.
  • Experience in HDL design verification.
  • Understanding and use of high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, and UCIE.
  • Understanding of SoC interconnect standards such as AXI, AHB, AMBA, Wishbone, JREG, or Avalon.
  • Experience with a Linux development environment.
  • Experience in a product development environment and an affinity for hands-on lab work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and at least 2 years of relevant Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience; or a master’s degree in one of these fields and at least 1 year of relevant experience; or a PhD in one of these fields.
