About The Position

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI) is seeking an Intern within the Electrical Engineering department for an 8-week period during the summer of 2027. This position offers exposure to the electrical job family through entry-level assignments. The role is based in the Clarksburg, MD office and reports to the Manager of the Electrical Engineering department. TDSI has a long history of serving defense domains and is committed to providing critical communication, visualization, and signal intelligence capabilities.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited university of college and have completed at least 2 semesters within Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or Computer Science fields.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must be proficient in English both verbal and written.
• Must be able to comply with Thales policies, procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with a mentor in the Electrical Hardware design field to perform technical assignments with a basic degree of complexity.
• Provide technical support to engineers and scientific staff in design and development projects to find solutions to real world problems.
• Under close supervision, participate in Hardware designs in assigned area.
• Utilize standard software packages common in the Electrical Hardware Design discipline to complete basic tasks.
• Gather and analyze data or information in support of engineering research.
• Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
• Share technical information and promote open dialogue.
• Attend relevant seminars, facility tours, and interact with other students.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
