About The Position

The Communications Specialist – Digital Communications will play a key role in optimizing web and digital communications across internal and external channels, supporting CHEO’s vision of the best life for every child and youth. This role involves developing and executing impactful digital communications strategies, collaborating with colleagues across CHEO, The CHEO Foundation, and CHEO Research Institute (RI) to leverage emerging trends and best practices. The specialist will create informative and compelling digital and narrative materials, focusing on reaching targeted audiences through various channels, including clinical care resources and multimedia content. Experience in delivering highly impactful digital communications, leading website/content strategies, and knowledge of UX/UI and AODA/WCAG compliance are essential.

Requirements

  • Police Record Check (PRC) (Essential)
  • Formal education in communications or related field or equivalent experience (Essential)
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of communications (Essential)
  • Experience writing and executing communications plans (Essential)
  • Experience in developing communications products across a variety of channels and formats (Essential)
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills; (Essential)
  • Ability to ensure on-time completion of tasks; (Essential)
  • Deal effectively with internal and external customers; (Essential)

Nice To Haves

  • Fluently bilingual in English and French, with superior (A-level) writing skills in both languages; (Preferred)
  • Experience in UX/UI and AODA/WCAG compliance is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver impactful digital communications for CHEO, aligned with key priorities of the organization.
  • Provide digital communications advice and guidance to communications projects.
  • Work collaboratively with peers at the CHEO Research Institute and the CHEO Foundation to align for maximum impact and effectiveness.
  • Promote and carry out best practices in digital communications, with a commitment to continuous improvement across CHEO.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
