About The Position

The Kalamazoo Wings Digital & Social Media Manager will serve a leading role in developing and executing the organization's strategy across all social media platforms and the team's official website. The Digital & Social Media Manager will lead publishing processes, website management, community content management and analytics tracking related to digital platforms, while working with the Public Relations Director to develop reporting systems that improve decision-making and maximize the organization's digital strategy. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of social media and digital content, with a developed understanding of content that will perform well across various digital platforms based on both creativity and analytics. The candidate will serve a key role in creating and curating content from multiple sources to build industry-leading digital experiences across all platforms and will serve as the primary publisher and community content manager for the K-Wings' social media channels and official website.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in social media, digital media or content creation
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong understanding of major social platforms and digital content strategy
  • Experience managing brand accounts in a fast-paced, real-time environment
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable content creation tools
  • Strong photo, video and digital editing skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and storytelling abilities
  • Motivated attitude and professional appearance

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day publishing across all K-Wings social media platforms and the official team website
  • Build and manage a year-round digital content calendar that drives engagement and storytelling
  • Create, publish and optimize content across X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and emerging platforms
  • Manage real-time game day and event coverage, including highlights, photos, graphics and live updates
  • Monitor trends and platform activity to identify timely content opportunities
  • Engage directly with fans across all platforms through comments, messages and mentions
  • Collaborate with players, hockey operations, marketing and creative staff to produce integrated content
  • Work with the Public Relations Director to align reporting, strategy and overall digital direction
  • Identify and execute collaboration opportunities with partner accounts, sponsors and external creators to expand reach.
