Dietitian (RD/RDN) - Acute Care
About The Position
Sodexo is hiring a Registered Dietitian for a full time inpatient role at New York-Presbyterian Queens, a 535-bed acute care hospital located in the heart of Queens, NY. NYP-Queens is an academic medical center and a Level 1 Trauma Center. This role involves providing exceptional nutrition care to patients on medicine and surgery units, being well-versed in Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE), and Malnutrition Identification. The position requires working every 5th weekend and rotating holidays, providing hospital-wide coverage, and being knowledgeable of the Nutrition Care Process.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clinical documentation.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nursing and ancillary staff.
- Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
- Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
Nice To Haves
- For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
- In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
- In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
