About The Position

Join a team of dietitians who are passionate about their profession, with patients at the heart of everything we do. Sodexo is hiring a Registered Dietitian for a full time inpatient role at New York-Presbyterian Queens, a 535-bed acute care hospital located in the heart of Queens, NY. NYP-Queens is an academic medical center and a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Requirements

Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clinical documentation.
Strong time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nursing and ancillary staff.
Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire.
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional nutrition care to patients on medicine and surgery units.
Be well versed in Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) and Malnutrition Identification.
Work every 5th weekend and rotating holidays providing hospital-wide coverage.
Be knowledgeable of the Nutrition Care Process.
