About The Position

Manages the comprehensive medical nutritional care of patients which includes providing nutrition assessment, development of nutrition care plans, diet modification, nutrition education, and all activities involved in the nutritional needs of the patient population. Develops and implements nutrition plan of care for patients based on multiple criterion including assessment of nutritional needs, physician's orders, clinical data, interdisciplinary health care plans, and standards of quality nutritional care that appropriately meet age, psychosocial and physical needs of patients. Documents all nutrition related information including assessment, nutrition therapy recommendations and care plan, follow up data and changes, diet consultation results, discharge planning, daily clinical activities, and other related orders and pertinent information. Counsels, educates, and develops resources and materials for the education of patients and families on prescribed therapeutic diets. Partners with food service staff to ensure meals, supplements, and nutrition support is provided; reviews patients' menu selections to monitor compliance with modified diets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Clinical Dietitian required
  • Completed Internship
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate and problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to guide, teach, and motivate all patient age populations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for obesity medicine patients (adults and peds)
  • Provide nutrition care for adult and pediatric bariatric surgery patients in pre- and postoperative settings
  • Conduct nutrition assessments, counseling, education, and follow-up visits
  • Utilize behavioral counseling strategies to support sustainable lifestyle change
  • Educate patients through individual counseling and group nutrition classes
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, nurses, psychologists, and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Participates in meetings
  • Develop patient education materials and nutrition resources
  • Support education of dietetic interns and allied health staff as needed
  • Maintain evidence-based practice in bariatric and obesity nutrition care
  • Demonstrate strong communication, counseling, and patient education skills
  • Performs other duties as assigned
