About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Part-Time Registered Dietitian to work at St. David's Heart Hospital of Austin, TX. This 72-bed facility specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease and is one of the nation's highest-performing cardiovascular facilities. The role involves providing direct patient care, educating staff, representing the department on hospital-wide committees, and assisting in various initiatives like performance improvement and quality management.

Requirements

• Licensed in Texas
• Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
• For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
• Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
• Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
• 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision.

• Possess experience or learning capacity for regulatory accreditation, regulatory readiness and review, and establishing and maintaining standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care (virtual and in-person) on inpatient units, with some outpatient coverage.
• Educate food & nutrition staff and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals as needed.
• Be the primary liaison with medical and nursing staff and represent the department on hospital-wide committees.
• Assist in other initiatives as needed, including performance improvement, quality management, community events, and departmental tasks.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as Sodexo and client needs.
• Drive performance improvement and quality management projects as needed.
