About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Part-Time Registered Dietitian to work at St. David's Heart Hospital of Austin, TX. This 72-bed facility is a high-performing cardiovascular facility specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The role involves providing direct patient care (virtual and in-person) on inpatient units with some outpatient coverage, educating food & nutrition staff and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, serving as the primary liaison with medical and nursing staff, and representing the department on hospital-wide committees. The position also assists in other initiatives such as performance improvement, quality management, community events, and departmental tasks, while maintaining compliance with all regulations and client needs. The role drives performance improvement and quality management projects.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) OR Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) for those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24.
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
  • 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Licensed in Texas.
  • Excellent communication, servant leadership and authentic customer service skills.
  • Experience or learning capacity for regulatory accreditation, regulatory readiness and review, and establishing and maintaining standards of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care (virtual and in-person) on inpatient units, with some outpatient coverage.

  • Be the primary liaison with medical and nursing staff and represent the department on hospital-wide committees.
  • Assist in other initiatives as needed, including performance improvement, quality management, community events, and departmental tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as Sodexo and client needs.
  • Drive performance improvement and quality management projects as needed.
