About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for an inpatient/outpatient position with the Stormont Vail Health System, providing onsite coverage at their Flint Hills Campus in Junction City. This role involves direct patient care on inpatient units, initiating and growing outpatient nutrition services, educating staff, and representing the department on hospital-wide committees. The position also assists in various initiatives such as performance improvement, quality management, community events, and departmental tasks.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian and Licensed in Kansas
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Have a strong commitment to excellence in all aspects of patient care
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
  • In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on inpatient units with regular attendance of daily interdisciplinary rounds
  • Initiate and grow outpatient nutrition services
  • Educate food & nutrition staff and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals as needed
  • Be the primary liaison with medical/nursing staff and represent the department on hospital-wide committees
  • Assist in other initiatives as needed, including performance improvement, quality management, community events, and departmental tasks
