About The Position

Join the Pinecrest team at our brand-new facility in Brainerd as a Dietary Services Assistant Director! The Dietary Services Assistant Director will support the daily operations of Pinecrest Dining by assisting with food preparation, meal service, staff supervision, and kitchen operations.

Requirements

  • Experience with food preparation, storage, sanitation, meal planning, and nutrition.
  • Knowledge of food production, recipe calculations, and standardized recipe preparation.
  • Understanding of infection control, food safety, OSHA guidelines, and safe food handling practices.
  • ServSafe certification required or willingness to obtain; CFPM license preferred or willingness to maintain.
  • Ability to support staff training and development related to food safety certifications.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while problem solving and prioritizing department needs.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specialized diets preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with supervising daily dining operations, including meal preparation, service, and clean-up for residents, tenants, and staff.
  • Support menu planning, special event meal service, and overall food production.
  • Help manage food ordering, inventory, vendor coordination, and kitchen supplies/equipment.
  • Maintain standardized recipes and ensure meals meet quality, safety, nutritional, and presentation standards.
  • Monitor compliance with food service regulations, sanitation practices, and safe kitchen operations.
  • Assist with staff training, mentoring, scheduling, and leadership in the absence of the Dietary Services Director.
  • Support resident dining satisfaction and provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with other departments and attend meetings/in-services as needed.
  • Assist with kitchen cleaning and other duties as assigned to support a safe, efficient dining environment.
