About The Position
DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center is looking for an experienced, hands-on Assistant Director of Dietary Services (PM Supervisor) to join our team. In this role, you'll work alongside the Director of Dietary Services to keep our food service department running smoothly - with primary ownership of evening shift operations. Requirements
- Valid Sanitation License
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively across all departments and levels of staff
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, push, and pull equipment throughout the shift
- Pre-employment physical exam and tuberculin skin testing (within 10 days of hire)
- Facility orientation and ongoing in-service education
Nice To Haves
- Previous supervisory experience in a food service setting
- Basic computer proficiency
Responsibilities
- Supervise food production and service staff across evening and day shifts, ensuring consistent adherence to quality and safety standards
- Oversee meal service operations, including tasting and temperature-checking food before service and conducting dining room rounds to monitor resident satisfaction
- Train, orient, and mentor new staff; maintain accurate records of training, attendance, and performance
- Assist with inventory control, ordering, resident care plans, and selective menu entry
- Monitor and enforce sanitation and safety standards throughout the kitchen, warming kitchens, storeroom, coolers, and chemical room
- Conduct quarterly and admission resident interviews to update resident dietary profiles
- Support scheduling, evaluate staff performance, and assist with disciplinary actions under the guidance of the Director of Dietary Services
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and assist with evacuation procedures as needed
