About The Position

As a Dietary Cook, you will prepare and cook meals that meet residents’ dietary needs. You will work closely with the Nutritionist to ensure meals are nutritious, delicious, and visually appealing.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited culinary school program with an associate or bachelor’s degree; alternatively, have a bachelor’s degree with a major concentration in food preparation, nutrition, or a related field; or have a high school diploma with a minimum of five years in the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of dietary regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Moderate physical activity, including pushing, pulling, moving, and/or lifting at least 50 pounds to a height of at least 3 feet and carrying or moving that weight at least 50 feet.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for more than eight hours per day.
• Ability to bend and/or stoop for more than one hour at a time.

Nice To Haves

• Previous cook experience.
• Experience in a health care food service setting.

• Monitor food supplies and order ingredients as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Nutritionist to develop menus that meet residents’ dietary needs.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff as needed.
