About The Position

The Homestead at Montrose is hiring a PRN (on-call, casual, as-needed) Dietary Assistant in Montrose, Colorado. The role supports food preparation, meal service, and cleaning in a healthcare setting, following established procedures and assignments from the Director of Dietary, Management Team, and/or Cook. The position offers a pay range of $18.62–$21.03 per hour, based on experience and status. Shift times are 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m. The Homestead at Montrose is an independent and assisted living community operated by Volunteers of America National Services. The role includes attending required in-services, completing assigned online modules, and reporting resident concerns, supply or equipment needs, unsafe or damaged equipment, and conditions related to pests.

Requirements

Be friendly and enjoy working with the elderly.
Be able to read and understand work procedures, instructions, recipe directions, and diet order cards.
Have numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Nice To Haves

Previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with assigned food preparation, serving meals, and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using dietary equipment and supplies.
Understand and follow procedures for duties and special assignments as directed by the Director of Dietary, Management Team, and/or Cook.
Attend required in-services and complete assigned online modules.
Report observed resident concerns.
Report supply and equipment needs.
Report damaged, unsafe, or malfunctioning equipment.
Report conditions related to breeding insects, rodents, or other vermin.
