About The Position

Iva Post Acute is seeking a dependable, energetic PRN Dietary Aide to help prepare and serve meals and create a welcoming dining experience for residents. The dietary aide’s assignments are based on the needs of the shift and the position reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor. The role has no supervisory responsibilities. At least three shifts per month are required. Dietary or food service experience is a plus, and the employer is willing to train the right person.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must obtain and maintain a food handlers’ certificate.
Ability to learn food service routines within a short period.
Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers and employees.
Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, dependability, punctuality, and ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

Dietary or food service experience.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and set up meal trays.
Assemble trays and assist with serving meals.
Strip down returned trays, wash dishes, and operate the dishwasher.
Check and record the dishwashing machine’s chlorine concentration and water temperature at the beginning of the shift, and observe water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.
Prepare nourishments and snacks.
Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and organized, including cleaning work surfaces and refrigerators and sweeping and mopping floors.
Carry out trash and garbage.
Put groceries away in a safe, orderly, and clean manner.
Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist when called upon by the Cook or Dietary Supervisor.
Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
