About The Position
The Dietary Assistant Lead supports the Culinary team by providing resident and guest engagement, overseeing meal distribution according to diet orders, and helping ensure food quality, quantity, and temperature align with menu items. The role provides work direction and assignments to dietary aides, gives ongoing performance feedback, and orients and trains team members on department procedures and equipment use. It also manages diet counts and production documentation, resident dietary cards, food and supply inventory, daily records and temperature readings, and the safety, maintenance, and cleanliness of dining and kitchen areas.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to three years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide and maintain a high level of resident and guest engagement.
- Oversee meal distribution according to diet orders and align quality, quantity, and temperature control with menu items.
- Provide work direction and assignments to dietary aides.
- Communicate ongoing performance feedback.
- Orient new team members on department procedures and teach proper use of department equipment.
- Initiate menu counts for normal and special diets and provide weekly tally and production sheets.
- Print and distribute resident dietary cards.
- Control itemized food, beverage, and supply inventory; maintain par levels and track inventory and supplies.
- Record daily logs and temperature readings, and audit stored food and supplies for dates.
- Facilitate the safety, maintenance, and cleanliness of dining rooms, serving kitchens, and workstations.
