About The Position

The Acute Care RN in the Emergency Department provides direct and indirect care to patients in an emergency setting, delegates tasks to other care team members as needed, and delivers safe, effective, and compassionate care. The RN educates patients and families to support improved health outcomes; assesses, prioritizes, and triages patients according to established guidelines; continuously monitors patients and interprets changes in their condition; and collaborates with providers to implement lifesaving procedures.

The department describes a community-oriented acute care setting with a positive culture, supportive leadership, flexible scheduling, nursing order sets that support autonomy, and opportunities for clinical ladder advancement and continued training. A dedicated educator supports the department. The position includes a requirement to work every third weekend.

Requirements

• Current Maine RN license.
• Desire to work in an acute care setting.
• Collaborative, positive team focus.
• Work every third weekend.

Nice To Haves

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS training completion; these will be provided upon hire if needed.
