About The Position

The Dietary and Food Kitchen Supervisor will help the company in its commitment to serve others by providing day-to-day direction to kitchen staff, overseeing food preparation and distribution of meals to persons served. This role involves training staff on standard concepts, practices, and procedures for cooking and dietary food preparation, preparing all menu items using established policies and procedures, and ensuring that the presentation and preparation of all menu items adhere to established standards and prescribed diet plans, and are delivered at acceptable temperatures. The supervisor will also communicate any changes to the established menu according to company policy, monitor and ensure that special diets, meal plans, and portions are provided according to menu guidelines, and develop and maintain adequate food/supplies, ordering as required. Additionally, the role includes inspecting supplies, equipment, or work areas to ensure all equipment is cleaned and operational, completing daily quality assurance checks required by state/local health departments and food temperature logs, and ensuring that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are maintained throughout the kitchen areas at all times, in compliance with established standards. The supervisor may oversee a full-sized kitchen where meals are cooked and prepared on-site, and must report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents to their supervisor, adhering to policy requiring the timely reporting of consumer and/or employee injuries.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food service industry
  • ServSafe and Allergen Certification
  • Other certifications as required by local jurisdiction

Responsibilities
