About The Position

The Dietary Aide assists cooks with food preparation and beverage service, checks in and rotates stock, and transports groceries from storage areas. The role includes cleaning kitchen equipment and service areas, stocking pantries and dining-room service areas, and helping meet scheduled mealtimes and snack times.

The Dietary Aide operates kitchen equipment, washes dishes by hand and machine, and checks and records sanitizer solutions and dish-machine temperatures or sanitizer levels as assigned. The role also sets up and serves resident and patient meal trays on the serving line, provides table-side service, and transports meals to nursing units by food cart. The position provides service to residents, patients, family members, and Facility staff, and may include other duties as assigned.

This is an in-person position offered as full-time or part-time work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate orally and/or in writing and follow directions.
• Able to lift up to 55 pounds.
• Able to bend, stop, twist, kneel, and shift.
• Able to push wheeled carts weighing 300 pounds or more.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions that may involve the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Able to stand and walk for extensive periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks by preparing foods, pouring beverages, and transporting groceries from the storeroom, cooler, and freezer.
• Check in and rotate stock.
• Clean equipment and service kitchen areas according to established job routines.
• Meet scheduled mealtimes and snack times.
• Operate mechanical equipment such as mixers, grinders, blenders, slicers, and dish machines.
• Provide service to residents, patients, family members, and Facility staff.
• Stock pantries and service areas in dining rooms as needed.
• Transport resident and patient meals to nursing units via food cart.
• Wash dishes by hand and machine; check and record pot-and-pan sanitizer sink solution and dish-machine temperatures or sanitizer levels as assigned.
• Set up and serve resident and patient meal trays on the serving line and provide table-side service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
