The Dietary Aide is responsible for the complete preparation and distribution of patient and employee meals. Staff must have complete knowledge in all areas of the kitchen and be prepared to perform all duties as requested by the supervisor or director. Approximately on average cooks on grill and fryer 30-60% of the shift. Duties include but are not limited to: Prepare and serve patient and cafeteria meals according to menus, dietary orders, and patient preferences. Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays and maintain food carts in a clean, sanitary condition. Cook meals using grills and fryers; set up and maintain the salad bar and cafeteria service line. Maintain proper food storage, stock supplies, rotate inventory, and unload and organize deliveries. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures, including monitoring equipment temperatures and properly washing/storing dishes and cookware. Complete daily kitchen and cafeteria cleaning, closing, and cash-handling procedures. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and perform other duties.
