About The Position

The Dietary Aide is responsible for the complete preparation and distribution of patient and employee meals. Duties include, but are not limited to, delivering patient trays, assisting the Cook with preparing meals mainly on the grill and fryer for cafe service, performing cash register transactions, and assisting with grocery deliveries. Staff must have complete knowledge in all areas of the kitchen and be prepared to perform all duties as requested by the Dietary Site Manager. We are a small, friendly department in a rural, family-friendly hospital with a BIG heart for our patients, guests and fellow employees. Minimum qualifications for working in this great department include but are not limited to: having fun, integrity and compassion which create an environment of healing, happiness and wellbeing for everyone. Knowledge in safe and proper food handling is helpful but not required. All of the important and detailed skills needed to be a competent food service professional will be learned during the training process.

Requirements

Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
Ability to interact with patients, physicians, employees, and guests.
Should have some knowledge in modified diets and have high standard of sanitation, neatness and cleanliness.
Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.
Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
Must be able to handle multiple priorities in a calm, productive manner.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
ServSafe certification or MN Department of Health Food Manager’s certificate preferred or willingness to successfully complete ServSafe certification course.
Six (6) months related experience preferred.
Knowledge in safe and proper food handling is helpful but not required.
