This is an adjunct faculty pool for teaching in the Diesel Technology department. The pool will remain open until June 2027 unless positions are no longer needed. Applications will be reviewed and candidates will be contacted and interviewed as positions become available. Instructor is responsible for the part-time instruction in various areas of the Diesel program, including but not limited to: brakes, electrical, engine diagnosis and repair, powertrains, off-road diesel, small engine repair, suspension and steering and hydraulics. Instructor is required to create a course syllabus, instruct students in the subject matter in accordance with the syllabus, maintain attendance records, assess student progress and evaluate course work for a letter grade. Instructor will maintain college standards in all aspects of professionalism, record keeping and instruction within the team atmosphere of the Diesel department of Rogue Community College. Supervision Received: The dean, in consultation with the department chair, is responsible for carrying out the evaluation of instructors under procedures developed by the vice president. The dean confers with the department chair in decisions regarding instructor workload, professional growth, retention, and department staffing levels. Examples of Duties - Essential Functions: Instructs students in a classroom, lab, learning center, or other setting as appropriate. Prepares, distributes and utilizes instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media, and other devices as appropriate. Develops, communicates, and utilizes a student assessment process and instruments which are related to the stated objectives of the course. Participates as a team member in department meetings and planning activities. Participates in curriculum planning and development as needed. Represents the program and the college to the community, businesses, public agencies, and other organizations in a professional manner. Communicate effectively with a wide variety of students and college staff. Advise students on matters of program goals and course requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
