About The Position

Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, helping maintain clean places and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. No professional experience is required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices learn a range of diagnostic, repair, maintenance, and parts-related skills while assisting with roadside services. The role requires a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed, and the ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, paid for by Love’s.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined; professional experience is not required.
• Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
• Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; Love’s pays for it.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services.
• Learn preventative maintenance services.
• Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air brake diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
• Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
• Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
