About The Position
Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment and help maintain clean facilities while providing friendly service. They interact with customers and drivers and learn diesel maintenance and repair skills through an apprentice program. No professional experience is required; training is provided. The role includes a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined; no professional experience is required.
- Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; Love’s pays for it.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air system and air brake diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Put customer safety and satisfaction first and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
