About The Position

Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, helping maintain clean facilities and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. The role is suitable for people with mechanical aptitude but no professional experience; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices learn vehicle diagnostics and repairs, parts lookup and acquisition, and preventative maintenance. They also assist customers with roadside services and prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while following company safety policies and procedures. The work involves a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed, and the ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, paid for by Love’s.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude; professional experience is not required.
• Ability to move and lift more than 75 pounds while working in close quarters.
• Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services.
• Learn preventative maintenance services.
• Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air brake diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
• Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
• Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation; Love’s pays for it.
