Diesel Technician Apprentice

About The Position
Love’s Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining clean places and providing friendly service. They interact with customers and drivers and learn diesel maintenance and repair skills through the apprentice program. No professional experience is required; training is provided. The role includes a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed. Apprentices must be able to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, paid for by Love’s.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined; professional experience is not required.
- Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation; Love’s pays for it.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule alternating between day and night as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air brake diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while complying with company safety policies and procedures.
