Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, maintain clean places, and interact with customers and drivers. No professional experience is required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices learn diesel repair and diagnostic skills, parts lookup and acquisition, and preventative maintenance. They assist customers with roadside services and prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while following company safety policies and procedures. The role works a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed and requires the ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, paid for by Love’s.
Requirements
- Ability to move and lift 75 or more pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation; Love’s pays for it.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air brakes diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
