About The Position

Love’s is hiring a Diesel Technician Apprentice to work in a fast-paced environment and help maintain clean places with friendly faces. Apprentices interact with customers and drivers and support their travel experience. Professional experience is not required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. The program teaches electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel end assembly, air system, air brake, and charging system diagnostics and repairs; basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement; and parts lookup and acquisition. The role also involves assisting customers with roadside services and learning preventative maintenance services. Apprentices work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.

Requirements

Be mechanically inclined; professional experience is not required.
Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
Ability to work in various temperatures.
Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; the cost is paid by Love’s.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with roadside services.
Learn preventative maintenance services.
Put customer safety and satisfaction first and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
Learn diagnostics and repairs for electrical systems, air conditioning and heating, wheel end assemblies, air systems, air brakes, and charging systems.
Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
