Diesel Technician Apprentice

About The Position
Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment and help maintain clean locations while providing friendly service. They interact with customers and drivers, assist with roadside services, and learn diesel maintenance and repair skills through an apprenticeship program. No professional mechanical experience is required; training is provided. The role requires prioritizing customer safety and satisfaction and following company safety policies and procedures. Apprentices work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to move and lift 75 or more pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; the cost is paid by Love's.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air brakes diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Put customer safety and satisfaction first and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
