About The Position

Miller Transportation Group is hiring a Diesel Mechanic Technician for its Miller Truck Leasing division in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. The company is family-owned and operated and maintains more than 40 diesel maintenance shops across several states, servicing a fleet of over 8,000 trucks. The technician performs maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles and refrigeration units.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1–7 diesel tractors.
• Valid CDL or ability to acquire a CDL with assistance from the company’s trainer.
• Must have hand tools.
• Ability to work Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working on refrigeration units, primarily ThermoKing.
• Higher compensation may be available for very experienced reefer technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and general reconditioning on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles.
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes using company-supplied OEM software and follow warranty procedures.
• Diagnose and repair ThermoKing refrigeration units.
• Repair or replace brakes, steering components, and suspension, and perform alignments.
• Replace clutches and transmissions.
