About The Position

WM is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for its Saint Cloud, Minnesota hauling site. The position is based in a repair and maintenance shop and involves maintaining and repairing trucks and equipment used to serve customers. Mechanics use modern tools and procedures to work on diesel equipment and, at some locations, CNG trucks. The role offers career progression, stable hours, and a focus on employee and community safety.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12:30 p.m. until work is completed, typically around 9:30 p.m. Occasional Saturdays and overtime when necessary are expected. Starting pay is $23.29–$34.94 per hour, depending on experience. Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks.
• Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
• Assist senior Mechanics with project work.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards, and follow established safety procedures.
