Diesel Mechanic 2nd Shift $5,000 Sign On - Saint Cloud, MN
About The Position
WM is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for its Saint Cloud, Minnesota hauling site. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel vehicles and equipment, with work performed in a repair and maintenance shop and occasionally outdoors. Mechanics use modern tools and procedures to maintain equipment, including CNG trucks at some locations, and help keep vehicles safe and operational for the community. The position offers a base pay range of $23.29–$34.94 per hour, depending on experience, a $5,000 sign-on bonus, a $1,000 tool allowance, and a $500 boot allowance. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 12:30 p.m. and continuing until work is completed, typically around 9:30 p.m. Occasional Saturday work and overtime when necessary are expected.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
- Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
- Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
- Conduct vehicle safety checks.
- Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
- Assist senior Mechanics with project work.
- Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards and follow established safety procedures.
