About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) at United Rentals, you will maintain, perform preventive maintenance on, and make minor repairs to rental equipment in a safe and professional manner. The role offers opportunities to develop toward higher-level technician positions in the Service Department. You will also be expected to provide exceptional customer service.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
One to two years of experience repairing or maintaining vehicles and equipment, or graduation from trade school.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 pounds.
Position is deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals' policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on rental equipment and tools, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Maintain complete and timely daily paperwork or electronic documentation of work performed, including work orders.
Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
