About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) at United Rentals, you will perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe and professional manner. The role offers opportunities to develop your skills and pursue higher-level technician roles in the Service Department. You will also provide exceptional customer service to United Rentals customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing or maintaining vehicles and equipment, or graduation from trade school.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Maintain complete and timely paperwork or electronic documentation of work performed, including daily work orders.
• Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
