About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) at United Rentals, you will perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment safely and professionally. You will provide exceptional customer service and may have opportunities to progress to higher-level technician roles in the Service Department. The position is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
1–2 years of experience repairing or maintaining vehicles and equipment, or graduation from trade school.
Own tools applicable to the position.
Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Complete and maintain paperwork or electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) accurately and on time each day.
Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
