About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic - Experienced (Service Tech IV) at United Rentals, you will perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited or no supervision, working safely and professionally. You will provide exceptional customer service and may have opportunities to develop toward leadership roles in the Service Department. The position is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
At least 5 years of experience repairing or maintaining equipment and tools.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools, using independent judgment.
Travel to customer job sites when required to repair or maintain rental or customer-owned equipment, and keep the service vehicle clean and professional.
Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
Complete work orders and other paperwork or electronic documentation accurately and promptly each day.
Assist with picking up and delivering equipment and parts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
