Entry Level Diesel Mechanic
About The Position
With direct supervision from a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician C performs preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. The role requires basic knowledge of vehicle systems to perform routine maintenance and repairs. The technician works on a single fleet using advanced equipment and supports drivers as they run their routes. The position offers a regular shift in a stable industry, training in new technologies and equipment, recognition for strong performance, and career paths for professional growth.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and troubleshoot common faults.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a certified diesel maintenance program.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification T8 PM.
- Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Maintain basic knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems to perform preventive maintenance and some repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and adjustments on vehicles.
- Change oil and replenish fluids.
- Make adjustments and light repairs, including tire changes.
- Perform basic electrical work, such as changing lights.
- Conduct visual inspections and use a variety of tools to identify potential equipment issues and sources of malfunctions.
- Complete applicable Company training programs.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
