About The Position

Tunkhannock Ford is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and vehicles. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of diesel automotive experience
Knowledge of diesel engine components and systems
Ability to read and interpret manuals.
Proficient in using diagnostic software, tools, and equipment.
Ability to move and lift heavy objects or equipment.
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

Certification in Automotive or Diesel Technology preferred.
ASE Diesel Certification preferred.
State and emissions certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles using specialized tools and equipment.
Identify and repair issues with engine, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, and other mechanical systems.
Replace defective parts as necessary.
Perform oil checks, tire rotations, alignment, and brake checks.
Maintain accurate records of services, parts, and inventory.
Communicate with customers and managers on repair orders.
Maintain work area clean and organized.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and vehicles
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Other duties as assigned.
