About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) at United Rentals, you will perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment safely and professionally. The role provides opportunities to develop toward higher Service Technician levels and leadership roles in the Service Department. You will also provide exceptional customer service to customers. The position is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
3–5 years of experience repairing or maintaining equipment and tools.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Safely maintain and repair complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
Complete and maintain paperwork or electronic documentation of work performed, including work orders, accurately and on time each day.
Travel to customer job sites when required to repair or maintain rental or customer-owned equipment.
Keep the service vehicle clean and professional.
Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
