About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) at United Rentals, you will perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe and professional manner. The work includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. You will provide exceptional customer service and may demonstrate complex equipment to customers, assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery, and complete other duties as assigned. This position is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
1–2 years of experience repairing or maintaining vehicles and equipment, or graduation from trade school.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on rental equipment and tools, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Complete paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed, including work orders, fully and on time each day.
Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
