About The Position

The Diesel Mechanic maintains and repairs company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. The role includes preventative maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, completing repairs to OEM, DOT, and company standards, and maintaining fleet reliability using diagnostic software and repair tools. Swift offers hands-on OEM training, ongoing web-based and hands-on technician training, and opportunities for career growth and advancement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment hair drug screening.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and work orders.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic software and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete repairs according to OEM, DOT, and company standards.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance, repairs, coding, and failure analysis.
• Use diagnostic software and repair tools to maintain fleet reliability.
