About The Position

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting and identifying defective or broken parts on vehicles, performing repairs on gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling, and mechanical systems. This role also includes performing quality control checks on refueling equipment, maintaining maintenance records, and operating refueling equipment vehicles. The mechanic ensures the aircraft services team operates effectively by providing preventative care and timely repairs to equipment. Additionally, the position requires maintaining a safe and secure work environment in accordance with health, safety, and security policies, and assuring a clean and safe working environment. Employees are expected to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others, cooperate with management, and report any hazards or incidents.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years mechanical experience
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Must pass background check and obtain Custom seal
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles
  • Make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on the refueling equipment
  • Maintain records relating to maintenance
  • Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles
  • Provide proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures
  • Assure a clean and safe working environment
  • Other duties and tasks as required
