About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role repairs automotive and heavy equipment, including trucks, carts, buggies, air compressors, welding machines, cranes, dirt equipment, and trailers. The position is non-exempt, follows specific procedures, and is checked frequently. The Diesel Mechanic reports to a Direct Supervisor / Foreman.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have own tools and toolbox.
At least 2–5 years of experience working on GM and Ford vehicles.
Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
Valid TWIC card or ability to obtain one.
Experience with modern automotive scan tools and diagnostic capability.
General knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.
Ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
Organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and work independently, including alone at times.
Must complete a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation and sign acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

ASME certification.
Technical training and/or industrial-related safety experience.

Responsibilities
