About The Position

South Texas Vo-Tech, part of Ancora Education, is hiring an instructor to deliver educational materials using sound educational practices that support each student’s academic development. The instructor uses instruction to develop students’ knowledge and skills in their chosen field and help them achieve their educational and career goals. The role promotes an engaging, dynamic, student-centered environment and provides support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed. Instructors model professional behavior and ethical conduct in alignment with Ancora Education’s mission and core values.

The instructor provides classroom and laboratory instruction, assesses students, and manages the classroom. The role also includes preparing and maintaining instructional materials and equipment, participating in faculty assessment and professional development, maintaining required credentials, reviewing assessment data, completing reports and deadlines, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of industry experience within the last 10 years.
• Where required, an active certification or licensure.
• Before beginning to teach, documented prior teaching experience or completion of new instructor training.
• Ability to qualify as an instructor under institutional and accreditation standards.

Nice To Haves

• Previous teaching experience in a proprietary education setting.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry.

Responsibilities

• Use classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged educational experience.
• Ensure students are presented with the material needed to meet the learning objectives of each course in their program of study.
• Ensure instructional materials and equipment are ready, sufficient in quantity, properly maintained, and in working order.
• Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development; maintain required certification and licensure.
• Participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines and internal company policies.
• Provide support, tutoring, and other assistance to students as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
