About The Position

The Diesel and CNG Tractor Mechanic repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots fleet equipment, including CNG and diesel tractors and engines, 53-foot trailers, pneumatic brake systems, and engine drivetrains. The role includes performing preventative maintenance inspections and complying with DOT regulations. The mechanic inspects and repairs tractor and trailer undercarriage components, including shocks, wheel bearings, air suspension components, and front-end assemblies, and diagnoses and repairs engine failures involving fuel, electrical, DEF, and mechanical systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eight years of documented practical tractor and trailer repair experience.
• Strong electrical abilities in tractor and trailer lighting systems.
• Ability to learn to operate a 35-ton tow vehicle.
• Valid Michigan CDL-A license, or ability to obtain one within the first six months of employment.
• Valid passport or enhanced driver's license.
• Ability to work any shift.
• Satisfactory motor vehicle report and accident history, with no DUI or OWI.
