Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Related Die Setter experience in a stamping facility.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to sit; climb balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Able to lift to 50 lbs.
Perform the job safely while adhering to company safety standards.
Eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Proficient with some toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, etc.)
Able to read and understand blueprints and use all quality measurement tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical comparator, etc.) with proficiency.

Responsibilities

Maintains production tooling, as well as the pulling and setting up of jobs in production presses.
Completes set-up responsibility (i.e., new die set-up information).
Responsible for pre-staging of all set-ups (tools, dies, chutes, clamping required, transfer fingers, grippers, Julian dates).
Load coils onto the mandrel and feed through the straightener and into the die.
Assist team members when coils need re-banding and taken off press.
Establish and maintain communication with other team members and support departments.
Initiate and sustain 5S opportunities.
Supply tool room with necessary dies.
Organize die and coil storage area.
Responsible for additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the supervisor.
