About The Position

Performs manufacturing responsibilities for the assigned area, focusing on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This role involves understanding and implementing safety programs, supporting manufacturing through problem-solving and continuous improvement projects, and ensuring product quality through various documentation and process controls. The Die Setter will also be responsible for understanding press functions, mix changes, and coordinating activities related to prototypes and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED certification
  • Die Setter training class or equivalent work experience in production

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with Safety Programs including Lockout/Tag out, confined space, and work area organization.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and comply with 5S initiatives.
  • Provide support to manufacturing by participating in problem-solving and continuous improvement projects to enhance quality and reduce scrap.
  • Initiate quality alerts to communicate changes in control plans, process instructions, or acceptance standards.
  • Coordinate Prototype, tool layout, and PPAP activities, ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Maintain the Manufacturing Quality Plan, including Process FMEA, Control Plans/Reaction Plans, Process Sheets, Work Instructions, Standardized work, and JSA's with Inspection Instructions.
  • Ensure necessary gauging and documentation are in place to support the control plan.
  • Assist in experimental activity related to product/process variables.
  • Monitor on-going product quality and processing by maintaining daily contact with manufacturing personnel.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of internal customers, all press functions (set up, operation, maintenance), mix changes, cleaning, cut ups, and weight adjustments.
  • Start up, shut down, monitor, and adjust the delube process according to the control plan.
  • Understand, review, and assess requirements to achieve department measurables.
  • Provide support and training to facilitate a safe manufacturing environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
