About The Position

Digital Tool & Die is an established tool and die shop in Grandville, Michigan, specializing in designing and fabricating sheet metal stamping dies, roll forming, fixtures, fabrication, and special applications for automotive, furniture, prototyping, appliance, and U.S. Military needs. The Die Maker assembles and tries out sheet metal stamping dies and is responsible for the quality and timely delivery of new tool build projects. The role involves safely operating shop equipment and collaborating with engineering and quality team members during troubleshooting. The Die Maker also helps train and mentor apprentices on die construction and function.

Requirements

Journeyman Tool and Die Maker.
Ability to set up and operate machine tools, including surface grinders, drill presses, and milling machines.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
Ability to understand and use a wide range of precision measuring instruments.
Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and thoroughly.
Dependable, strong work ethic, and collaborative team member.
Good housekeeping skills.

Responsibilities

Assemble and try out sheet metal stamping dies.
Safely operate presses, press feeder equipment, forklifts, overhead cranes, surface grinders, and other machine tools.
Ensure quality and on-time delivery of new tool build projects.
Communicate effectively with engineering and quality team members when troubleshooting.
Help train and mentor apprentices on how dies are built and how they are supposed to function.
